Description
Re-Emerge is an abstract expressionist, radical geometric film born from the collision of structures. These foundational elements were two frames from the preceding film, which was itself created from one frame, ‘Frame 3744’. The frame names for this film were ‘Frame 072’ and ‘Frame 190’.
The entire film is created from those two frames being smashed together and seeing what happens. Re-Emerge focuses on the material impermanence of all life, juxtaposed with the eternal permanence of existence at the atomic level. Every atom is perpetually recycled and reused, a testament to Earth as a grand self-renewing machine. The very atoms that constitute us today once existed as dinosaurs, tigers or chairs. This work functions as a visual abstraction of these ceaseless cycles of decay and genesis. When environmental conditions shift, becoming extreme, life doesn’t vanish entirely; it contracts, finding refuge.
Pockets of static resistance hidden away in sanctuaries until the moment of change erupts, allowing the building blocks to reform, expand and renew. An unbroken atomic lineage stretching from the Big Bang to the complex body you currently inhabit. The music complementing the film is ‘Transition-Translation,’ a special composition by sound artist Skin Vehicles.
