Painted 'alla prima' blending the colours live on the canvas, its a dangerous process and one step too far and the panting is gone. This is influenced by the Leonard Cohen track of the same name. A track that for me has some of the most powerful lines every written. Such a perfect way to understand the world. I wanted to capture this in the form of a painting. I just hope I do it some justice.
